Window Refurbishment

With all Envirosash Double Glazing and draught proofing installations, windows are fully checked over and completely refurbished.

On all Slim Double Glazing fabrications the single paned glass is removed from the sash, the exsiting rebate is then modifed to house the double glazed unit.

Double Glazed Units are then bedded in with a non hardening compound and externally putted with linseed Putty.

Cords replaced on Sashes can vary depending on customers' requirements, all cords we use have a synthetic inner liner which are much more durable and stronger and do not break compared to standard wax cord.

We check all windows for any rotten timbers and use a two part epoxy resin for any minor filling repairs and as well as for large repairs.

On all fabrications sashes are sanded down on the external face to remove any flaky paint  and are then painted with a primer.This is to protect the timber unitl windows are decorated. 

May be in some cases its necessary to remake part of or replace a window, this is often due to severe weathering or being a specific need, our joinery workshop can match any type of bespoke joinery with a huge choice of selective timbers.

We don't sub contract out any works so there is no risk of your project joinery being 'misinterpreted'.

Depending on the age of the window, joints between the side rail and bottom rail can come apart these joints tend to come apart after being exposed to years of weathering.  We apply a conservation joint which involves a 6 mm deep rebate between the joint which is then filled with epoxy resin this then bonds the joint shut making it stronger and more durable.

Cords are fixed to sashes using a hidden removable fixing bracket. This makes access to sashes very simple, meaning no need for scaffolding or external ladders.
